Steppa is a step-challenge app where you stake money on hitting your own daily step goal, and split the prize pool with everyone who finishes. Here is the rating the App Store shows, and what people wrote.
This page is published by Steppa LLC. It is our own page, not an independent review site. Every review below is a real App Store review, copied word for word — we do not edit them, translate them, or write them. What we do choose is which ones to show here: the ones rated four and five stars. Ratings below four stars are counted in full in the average above, and the App Store listing has all of them.
Steppa is a real iOS app published by Steppa LLC, a company registered in Delaware, and it has been on the Apple App Store since December 2025. Steps are read from Apple Health rather than counted by Steppa itself, so the data a challenge is judged on is your device's, not ours. Winnings are paid to PayPal or a US bank account. The rating and the reviews on this page come from the App Store listing, which anyone can open and check.
Yes. When a challenge settles, the prize pool is divided among everyone who hit their goal every day, and each share lands in that player’s in-app wallet. From there you cash out to PayPal — available in the US and most countries — or to a US bank account. Steppa charges no payout fee on either rail, though PayPal may apply its own currency conversion charges at their end.
No. There is no element of chance in a Steppa challenge. Whether you finish depends entirely on whether you walked your steps each day — not on odds, a draw, or how anyone else performed. Everyone who completes the challenge gets paid. Paid challenges are for players aged 18 and over, and availability depends on the laws where you live.
The prize pool is made up only of players’ stakes and pays out 100% to the winners — Steppa takes no cut of it. Instead, a processing fee is added to your entry and shown to the cent before you confirm: currently $0.50 plus 4% of your stake. On a public challenge run by a creator, a creator fee of 5% of the stake is added on top and goes to that creator. The join screen always shows the exact total.
Your payout is the prize pool divided by the number of players who finished, so it depends on the stake, how many people joined, and how many of them completed. Because the stakes of players who drop out or miss a day stay in the pool, a lower completion rate means a larger share for each finisher. Every challenge shows its current pool and entry cost before you join.
The complaint that comes up most often is how long a challenge takes to settle and pay out. Settlement usually completes within a few hours of a challenge ending, but it has run into a second day, and until a challenge settles you cannot join the next one. Reviews below four stars are not listed on this page; they are all on the App Store listing, and they are counted in the average shown above.

I’ve downloaded several steps based apps over the years that give you pennies for watching endless videos and logging in 100x a day. The premise of this app is so much better. Put your money where your mouth is and get your steps in. It’s not gonna make me rich, but I’m 70 bucks ahead in the past couple months just by taking the steps I was already going to take.
This app has been the sole reason why I have been consistent with my walking! Whoever came up with the idea is a genius!! Financial incentive to not give up!! Truly love it ♥️
As an update to a recent review, I wrote, the Support team did take care of the issue. They just were not available on the weekend and I did not realize that. I want to give credit where it is due, and they have taken care of the issue. It’s a great app and I will continue to use it.
Great app that motivates u to walk more. One Starr off because UK withdrawal option was promised long time ago, but it’s still not available…
Very well thought out app. At first I was surprised that you can only join one challenge at a time, but when you think about it, it makes sense. Steppa really motivates me to get out there and walk more, and sometimes I just go for an extra walk in the evening to complete my challenge steps. The app works well and is designed beautifully!
I just joined Steppa and had a great experience with the support team over there, helping me with a billing issue within hours of my email to them. Being part of the Steppa challenge helped me finish my workout yesterday even though I didn’t feel like doing it!
Downloaded yesterday and already enjoying it however I was disappointed when I
realised you couldn’t join more than one challenge at once. I think this is something you guys need to act on urgently as it will make a lot more people feel inclined to download the app and get involved.
It’s a great app that helps motivate you. Also had an excellent interaction with their support team.

The app has a great concept and the payout is actually decent compared to other apps with a similar feature. The team is small, but they are helpful and supportive to fixing any problems and bugs you may encounter.
I’ve been using this app for a few weeks now and it’s worth it. You are literally betting on yourself to win. Someone with my personality this is perfect. There was a minor issue with the steps syncing for one of the challenges and the app team was very quick in helping me out.
The Steppa team is very helpful and quick to respond with any issues. I enjoy using the application to log my steps and compete with others in these challenges!
I can’t even begin to express how excellent Steppa has been for my health and fitness goals. Of course, everyone responds to different kinds of motivation, but these guys make it make sense for everyone. You put money on the line, which is a great motivator for me. But they also gamify the process with step streaks, comparing your steps to others in your challenges, and of course the ability to ultimately win money for completing your goals. Plus their customer service is amazing.
I truly enjoy the concept of Steppa. I am able to get my steps while at work easily but during my days off. I tend to be lazy which Steppa has helped me go the extra mile.
I have noticed the improvement since I joined and I appreciate the transparency. When I’ve come across issues. They have been very helpful to resolve it. Looking forward to seeing more improvements!
Great app to get you motivated to stay active!
is fun
Seems a great incentive but when the application conveniently gets stuck on 98% completion and you fail the challenge you realise it was all just a fantasy ….
This app helped me reach my weight loss goals while simultaneously making money! Couldn’t recommend more
STEPPA IS A GAME CHANGER!!! I’ve never walked more!!! I step step and step again!
I’ve been using this app for about a month and a half now. It’s been great for accountability to get my steps in. The last challenge I did, my steps didn’t completely upload on the last day of the challenge so it showed that I lost. I emailed customer support screenshots of my actual steps vs what showed on the app and they emailed me back quickly and fixed my steps in the app so I was able to be compensated. I appreciate the help!
I have always seen apps like this and wanted to give them a try but they are always scans. Not this app. Not only does it work and can you get paid, but I had some issues with tracking and the staff immediately responded and helped me solve my issue. This app is awesome and exactly what you are looking for to motivate you to get out of the house. Would 100 percent recommend.
It’s really motivating. Also, I don’t understand why people complain about the app here? Just understand that it’s a great startup idea. Their team might not be able to handle all the issues right now, but you can see they’re trying to fix things quickly. Just give them a little time. This idea deserves to grow worldwide.
This app is improved a lot. Good concept for fit motivation.
I just have to write this review. I found this app and loved this idea. A way to challenge yourself and keep you accountable while putting your money where your steps are. Truly brilliant, you don’t lose unless you fail yourself. That said, I joined a challenge and the first couple days were awesome, I was killing it. Then my mom had an emergency and I ended up in the ER with her all day. I couldn’t get my steps in. I contacted support and asked if there was anyway I could get credit back for a new challenge. I didn’t want my money back and fully understood if they said no. I’m sure people may do this and lie and it’s understandable if they say no. I offered to provide proof and definitely understood if they said no. They didn’t say no, they wished my mother well and told me family comes first and gave me credit for a new challenge. This has been one of the hardest couple days of my life and it may seem silly to worry about steps, but it’s bigger than that. The kindness from their team was something I needed and I just want to say thank you for caring and understanding. I can’t give this app more than five stars, but I would be if I could because, WOW!
App carina semplice e intuitiva.

Extremely motivating
I’ve tried several step tracking apps and this is the one I’ve enjoyed the most.
So I’ve been using Steppa now for about a month and I haven’t run into any issues the app works really smoothly and I have barely ran into any bugs. It does a good job and syncing your steps with the health app. But I had a general question because I am about to go on a cruise. If I still get my steps in will the app still be able to track it and won’t disqualify me?
Love the concept and looking forward to further improvements!
Bin begeistert 🫶🏻
Still has its bugs but the team seems to be working hard to correct them and respond to issues quickly which I appreciate! Couple things I hope they work on soon:
1. I’m a big stats guy and I love seeing the total number of steps that I’ve walked on the app and my app wide ranking. Last week I reached over 500,000 total steps and was ranked 30th overall but my step count and rank has not updated in over a week now and this seems to be a trend.
2. I would like if the challenge stats updated correctly and were portrayed more clearly. The app says how many people are on track to complete the challenge but this number always seems to get stuck from the first day of the challenge so it’s hard to know how many people have actually been eliminated at any point. If this would update daily and show clearly the total number of eliminated challengers, it would make things a lot more fun to track on the app and keep up with throughout a challenge.
Overall really enjoy this app and plan to continue using it. Just hoping that they fix some of these issues to make things smoother and more enjoyable.
Yay lower fees
A+
Fit&healthy
This app has single handedly made me get up and move. Love the idea, had a few problems that have now been fixed, credit to the amazing support team. They are working on fixing everything and even explained how they were making things better for users in the future. Very cool
Easiest money I’ve made. I put $20 into a 10k step challenge and ended up taking a cut of the prize pool because half the people tapped out by Day 4. If you actually hit your daily steps, this is basically free money. It is wild that Im getting paid because other people are too lazy to walk. Payouts are fast and the app is clean. 10/10.
Phenomenal app with a clean, easy to use UI. Have been using for a month now and have joined three challenges and all have been fun and rewarding. They force me to change my daily habits and be a bit more intentional with my movements throughout the day to stay more active and hit my step goals. I will say it's not easy! Plenty of days where I have had to get on the treadmill at night scrambling trying to make my goal.
The only complaint is that at times, it does take a while for the challenge to settle and pay out. My first challenge took two days and I was not able to join any others while that occurred. The current challenge I just finished is also going through the same issue and I am waiting as we speak for it to get resolved and get paid. Other than that, no complains and I can't wait to see the future for the app especially as it becomes more and more popular and more people sign up to the challenges!
When are you guys gonna lets us enter multiple challenges at once 🥺🥺
You can’t cash out unless you have a USA account.
This is a great app for a little extra motivation to complete your daily steps. I just wish they were transparent with the percentage that the app takes from each pool. When over 100 people get eliminated from a challenge with only 550 in the challenge, and everyone only gets their buy in back. I understand the app needs to make a profit to continue improving the app, I just ask for a little more transparency.
Game changer in terms of motivation, and you actually earn some money (about 5$ per week)

Usen mi código me ayudarían mucho🫡
Update: After speaking to the Founder of Steppa, I have decided to change my review due to the positive customer support I’ve received from Cam. He explained how the breakdown for payments are now in FAQ and will be transparent from the start of your challenges. I appreciate the time and effort that was taken to make things right.
Did a challenge where 2 people won the pot of $75 (5 of us with $15 buy in). The app only returned $28.12 to each of us. I reached out to customer support 2 days ago and asked for a breakdown of how me and the other person only got $28.12 each of the $75 we won. No response. I checked to see if they take money out somewhere on the app after winnings. Couldn’t find anything.
Yesterday, reached out again when they said they were aware of a problem with the wallet. Got a response back quickly that AM:
Hey,
Real human here, what is your issue
Copy and pasted my previous email. Thanks for being a real human this time and not respond to me again.
I checked the reviews before getting this app. Seems after an influx of people getting the app, they are having similar issue as I am. Don’t waste your time or money. I’ll be reaching out to Apple about this.
Small team. No massive funding rounds. Just quiet, consistent shipping. Every time I open the app there’s something new — a UI tweak, a new reward, a small quality-of-life fix that tells you someone actually cares.
The whole thing is built around one idea: make getting healthy actually fun. Steps, streaks, rewards — it’s gamified without being annoying about it. You’re not being lectured about your health. You’re just… playing. And somehow you end up walking more.
I don’t take this app seriously and that’s exactly why it works. The moment a health app starts feeling like homework, you delete it. Steppa never feels like that.
Such a cool app. Literally making money for going outside and touching grass
Update: payment was delayed but it did eventually come through. It’s a fun app and I like the idea so we’ll see moving forward but recommend to anyone looking for motivation to get those steps in.
Completed challenge and fine print says payout will occur within 24 hours. It’s been 2 days without settlement and I can’t join a new challenge. Lame.
Quand pourront nous retirer en france ?
I was skeptical of this app. There were limited reviews, no info online etc. So I tried an easy challenge with a low entry fee. There was a delay in completing the challenges due to technical issues but it was sorted in the end.
I can successfully withdraw the winnings from the app.
The biggest downside is that you can only withdraw to a US BANK ACCOUNT! So make sure you have something Revolut where you have details for a US Dollar account otherwise you will not be able to withdraw.
This app can only get better as more people use it.
The app is good, just need some bug fixing. Register with this referral to get both €5

Great app to motivate you to exercise.Easy to use .Fun way to get in shape and engage others to join!!!
Previous challenge data and missing pay out information was fixed. Such a cool motivational app and fun to go through challenges with friends and family who also signed up
Cool idea. Allegedly cheaters get banned so that's good. Not sure how they find them out. Processing fees are high since they use Whop.
Great app and premise, really motivating me to get active.
Only negatives are the live leaderboard could be improved by filtering who is not on track for the challenge, how many have failed the challenge so far etc.
Also the app does not allow for international withdrawals which should be clearer for UK users ahead of signing up.
So far so good. Email communication is good and they keep themselves accountable. 5 stars
Love this
Completed the first challenge on 16th but there’s an issue with the app so no one has been paid out as of 18th. I’d like to join another challenge but don’t want to put any more money in yet as there’s a problem with withdrawing it for non American users, the bank details form has sections that we don’t have such as routing number.
If this app does what it promises; that’s amazing; if it’s a scam someone should rebuild it as soon as possible.
TBD.
Since sync issues were fixed. Still some hiccups, but the app looks very promising. Some features suggestion: 1. Payout for EU users. 2. Allow to join a new challenge while the current one is compete but waiting for time zone window close. 3. Show current stats of challenge to expose how many users missed a day.
Truly such a fun and interactive way to challenge yourself and make a little cash
As an avid walker, when I saw this app I thought it might fun to give it a try to pus me through the days I don’t wan to get off the couch. The apps functions are pretty great and I’ve totally been peaking at leaderboards and wanting to walk more.
What’s actually earned this five star review though was the support from the dev team. I had an issue where my step count wasn’t properly synced from health to app and emailed support at like 5 after I woke up. I got an email back within the hour saying they’d look into and fix it. And they did that day!
Not only that but with a growing app this issue I guess came up a couple more times for some other people and they sent out an in app notification AND an email notifying everyone and letting them know how to proceed with next steps.
In a time when cash grab apps will easily let you waste money and let you suffer without a response, I greatly appreciated how this was handled and will be continuing to use this app. Highly recommend
Pour avoir un bonus au départ
I’m leaving a 5 unless it’s some kinda scam, then I’d change it.
The share code/invite friends link doesn’t work. Nothing populates
App seems to have a bug in the rpc endpoint that submits data to their servers prior to the day being complete, marking the day as completed false submitted true, and does not seem to attempt to reconcile with the health app after this
If you want your money taken on a glitchy app, this is your chance
I can‘t get over how much fun this is, sharing it with all my family and friends to compete together
loving it so far. some other people said it’s aesthetically a little weird but i agree. the concept is so fun and fresh. walking more steps then ever!
Great app idea, but the app needs a lot of improvement. It freezes very frequently and stops working
Very nice app, it’s a great idea to keep up your with your goals.
Fire app go download!
Great idea and super fun and motivating
Very convenient for every day runners who enjoy challenges with friends
Never thought I’d care about step counts but putting money on it changes everything. Finished a 10-day challenge and got paid. Makes walking way more motivating.
Awesome app me and my friends use it to hold eachother accountable
Luis if you’re reading this, get your steps up.
Helps me make sure I’m moving
